Sucharda also entered the history of Czech art as a tireless initiator and organizer, primarily as part of his twenty-year tenure at the head of the Mánes Association of Fine Artists. Both the exhibitions organized by Mánes - especially Rodin's (1902), Munch's (1905), and Bourdell's (1909) - and intensive publishing activities were significant, starting with the publication of the art magazine Volné směry.
